A warm, blush pink-gold finish
Rose gold gets its distinctive pink hue from the copper content in the gold alloy. The higher the copper proportion, the deeper and more pink the colour — our rose gold finish is calibrated to deliver a warm, balanced blush that is recognisably rose gold without being overly copper-toned.
Rose gold has experienced a significant resurgence in popularity over the past decade, driven by its appearance in luxury watches, smartphones, and fashion jewellery. It is now one of the most requested finishes we receive, particularly for fashion jewellery collections, engagement ring re-plating, and contemporary accessories.
As a plating finish, rose gold is applied using a gold-copper electrolyte bath. The resulting layer has a warm, slightly matte quality compared to the bright yellow of standard gold — many clients describe it as softer and more contemporary. It pairs beautifully with both warm and cool skin tones.
Rose gold plating is available across all our thickness options. For fashion jewellery and seasonal collections, Standard (0.5–1.0 µm) is the most popular choice. For rings, bracelets, and watch cases requiring maximum durability, Heavy (5–10 µm) rose gold provides both the distinctive colour and long-lasting wear.

The copper content may develop a slight patina with heavy wear — re-plating restores the original finish
With a fresh, intact plating layer, skin contact is with the gold-copper alloy, not bare copper. However, as the plating wears thin, the copper content may cause a greenish or pinkish tint on skin. We recommend Heavy plating for rings and bracelets worn daily to maximise the time before re-plating is needed.
Rose gold plating has similar durability to yellow gold at the same thickness. The copper content makes the alloy slightly harder than pure gold, which can be a minor advantage for wear resistance.
Yes — rose gold vermeil on sterling silver is a popular option. The 2.5 µm minimum thickness requirement applies, and the result is a beautiful warm pink finish on a sterling silver base.
Absolutely. Rose gold watches are extremely popular, and we regularly re-plate watch cases, bracelets, bezels, and crowns in rose gold. We recommend Heavy (5–10 µm) for watch components to ensure longevity.
